Castle Pines Outdoor Adventure Camps: Summer 2025 Enrollment Announced

Balance Adventure Camp (303-529-9608) is now accepting enrollments for its 2025 summer program, offering nature-based outdoor learning for kids in Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, and surrounding parts of the south Denver area.

-- Parents of children aged 6-11 in Castle Pine, Castle Rock, and Highlands Ranch can now register for the summer 2025 outdoor learning programs from Balance Adventure Camp. The nature-based education focuses on hands-on, real-world experiences that build confidence, form connections, and get children away from their devices.

Balance Adventure Camp will be running the weeklong programs from June 2 through August 1, with children being picked up and dropped off daily in either Castle Rock or Highlands Ranch. Activities can include hiking, sports, fishing, farming, plant identification, music, fire safety, and bird watching, led by an experienced team of teachers who are also certified in CPR and first aid.

A recent study from the nonprofit Common Sense Media found that 40% of children have a tablet by the age of 2, and 25% have a personal cellphone by the time the age of 8. As much as 60% of screentime is spent viewing videos, while a further 26% is devoted to gaming. Only 4% was reading, and 1% was for homework.

As Balance Adventure Camp points out, average screentime can increase significantly during the summer break, something that the company’s annual camps are designed to address. Rather than being based in a classroom, all activities occur outside, weather permitting, designed to connect children with nature and the wider world.

“Balance School's Outdoor Academy is a summer education program designed to get kids outside, unplugged from their devices and plugged into Mother Nature,” a program representative explained. “It is our intention to create a supportive, safe, and fun learning environment for your children to have the best summer ever.”

A locally-based company, Balance Adventure Camp is a Colorado State-licensed summer camp that has grown in popularity since its inception. The team now comprises certified guides and educators who have extensive experience in recreation, environmental science, and youth development.

“As a family-owned and operated camp, we treat each child as if they were our own,” the company continued. “Our local roots give us intimate knowledge of the natural areas we explore, allowing us to provide authentic experiences while maintaining the highest safety standards.”
